Kubota Diesel

I've got a 98 Allure with a PowerTech 7KW genset using a Kubota diesel. The fan belt keeps wearing and slipping causing the unit to overheat. I've replaced the belt with the recommended replacement but it still wears fast.
After the unit runs for 30 mins or so you can smell the rubber. There is no belt tightner. The pulleys seem to be lined up. The water pump turns freely. There are no burrs on any of the pulleys. I'm stumped. Anyone else have this problem or know what's up? Thanks! -----
