Heat Pump A/C Saga Continues

Yahoo Message Number: 35316
We are now in South Carolina, and the front Dometic unit is very erratic again. After our recent trip to Kentucky when it failed, it worked fine at home in West Virginia.
It works when it decides to work and it doesn't matter if the demand is for heat or cooling. This has been happening for nearly a year and a half. So far we have replaced the main board in the rooftop unit, as well as both temperature sensors in the unit, the thermostat (control center as they call it) and the cable connectors in the ceiling. The capacitor looks fine, and the compressor is easily started by jumpering connections in the unit.

Last night it kicked on and off all night according to temperature demand. Today it worked correctly for about an hour - hasn't run in the last three hours and the temperature is definitely cool.

We have tracked wires, checked connections, everything, with no continued success.

And - the dumb thing just now came on again. We're totally stumped.

Thanks to those who have responded in the past with suggestions - even though none of them worked. Any more ideas?
