HWH Travel mode Off switch

Yahoo Message Number: 35342
Hi Folks,

When a ride height valve fails or for those that would like to greatly reduce air compressor governor cycling, a simple switch in series with the 7.5 amp Travel fuse in the HWH control box is convenient. This has been addressed in the past by coach owners. For those that would like to see some photos of an installation, you can click on the envelope icon by my name. After leveling manually (setting bags to their proper ride height - see Files section) due to a failed ride height valve or after Travel mode indicator is green and waiting at least 30 seconds, a simple setting the switch to Off prevents air from going into or out of the bags. I have traveled for 5 days with the switch Off before having to readjust the bags to their correct height. When the bag height exceeds one inch below the proper height, it's probably time to readjust.

The air ride suspension is an active system. It is designed to constantly adjust the ride height and level of the coach. It adjusts for the road crown, ruts, turns, loading, etc, etc. Disabling its function is not advisable. On OTR busses, trucks, etc air ride is a costly option over spring suspension. The reduction of air compressor cycling is not worth the risk of disabling the system. You will probably never wear out an air compressor or governor. There is no monetary benefit to disabling the system, but it may be costly due to other related damage.
