Our water pump has started pulsating very rapidly. Water flow from all outlets pulsates rapidly. All OK when on city water. Any suggestions?

First thing I would do is check./change the water filter -- if your unit is the same as mine all water flows through this filter and if it starts to clog up then it can make the pump work more.

Next I would check the filter screen in front of the pump to see if it's filled with crud or not.

Next I would check to see that you don't have any leaks -- first by turnign all the taps off (city water disconnected) and turn on the pump for a few minutes. If it runs then something is leaking. If it doesn't run then you should check the hoses to/from the water pump.

If no leaks, no filter problems and no hose issues then it's most likely the pump itself.

If you can't find the problem, I have found that most pumps carry a three-year "over the counter" warranty. They determine eligibility by the date stamped on the pump.

Camping World has replaced two pumps for me over the past 5 years.

Hi:

I had that problem. CC turned up the pressure a little on the water pump. All OK now.

Bob,

One more item, drain your hot water tank. Your RVs water pulsation damper is the air bubble in your hot water tank.

Mine was doing the same thing. I replaced it with a 5.7gpm pump and accumulator. It works great and we have more pressure than when hooked up to most rv park water systems.

I tried many of these suggestions without much success. CC emailed and said the pump is failing and should be replaced. Any suggestions on replacing?

This is not really a big deal. The pump is located on the lower left side of sanitary bay, There is a cover which is either Velcro on or screwed, Once panel is off there sits the pump. I attached to the floor with 4 mounting screws. Disconnect water and electrical and pump comes out. This task is really hard on the knees, so wear pads. If you have bad knees get a good mechanical kid to run the wrench. Good luck.

Not finding any info on how to adj. the pressure. My pump is a Flojet 4406 Series, may not be adjustable. What pump do you have and how is it adjusted?

Was the replacement the Surflo Extreme Series? I found two recent reviews and they are both bad! One had three pumps in one month, the other was on his second pump. How long have you had yours? Anybody else with experiance with this pump?

When my coach was new, I went through three of the standard AquaJet water pumps in the first month. I was still at the factory while this was going on, so for the fourth pump I had them install the 5.7 Shurflo Extreme and it has worked perfectly since then. Today is my third anniversary of taking delivery of my coach.

If memory serves me, there is a screw on the end of the pressure switch. Just turn it in to increase.
Phillips type. If you do not see it just go to floject web site and get the pump info. .. or call them.

I had the Shurflo Extreme 5.7 pump installed at Camping World.
Because the coach pump circuit is controlled by the Intellitec system a relay had to be installed because of the ten amp fuse limit and it needs fifteen. This made the installation somewhat complicated and expensive. The water flow from this new pump is beyond my expectations. The pressure and even flow makes the coach seem like a stick home on a very good city water system.
