"RECREATIONAL VEHICLE TOWING FACT SHEET" has the info RVers are looking for. I'll FAX a copy to those interested.

Towing laws for USA + Canada are found p.22-23 in 2001 Trailer Life Directory.

That said, this gets abit sticky here cuz:

1.In Canada, laws & weights differ in EACH Province.
2.The TL Directory graph reads 1400kg(3080lbs) for WEIGHT of TRAILERS REQUIRING Brakes in BC. However, in BC, a car on a tow dolly = TRAILER. Fortuneately, BC distinguishes the MH apart from the "trailer". Thus the confusion.
3. A MOTORHOME WITH A TOW BAR may tow up to 2,000kg = 4409lbs, DOES
NOT NEED supplemental brakes in British Columbia.

I hope this helps some of you making this decision too.

Bottom Line: I'm preparing for a CC/JC coach 1st appt., 1st Diesel, then 1st trip to Alaska, so trying to deal with all these issues. I want to add creditable scoop for those also interested.

I'm also preparing a REFERENCE CHECK LIST that other CC 2nd Owners may also find helpful.

Would be very interested in seeing what you have. I too have my first big rig diesel and plan a trip to Alaska in about 2 years. I would like to hear about your experiences.
