leveling

Yahoo Message Number: 2200
We have a Country Coach Prevost which uses air bags as did our prior 2 motorhomes. There have been times I felt that I would like to have an "arm/leg" type leveling system but not enough times to make it worth the cost and problems that can be associated with them. Face it we use the air bags constantly as we drive and its simple enough.
I always drop the bus down to the bottom and let it level up from there because of the front step being the lowest that way. I do carry several sections of 2 x 10 boards with a slanted front edge just in case I need to have more adjustment at one corner or the other. Keep in mind that with duals you need lumber spacers under both wheels and they must be wide enough to support the whole tire.
I can only think of once time in 4+ years that I used the wood. Nice thing about air bag leveling is no worry about sinking into dirt, blacktop, etc. with the legs. If it's strong enough to support the tires then I can drive and level it there.
