Panama City to Mobile?

Hi,

In a few weeks, I have to go from Panama City to Mobile. The online routings recommend going north of Eglin AFB on I-10, but going south of Eglin on US-98 appears much shorter.

Any recommendations one way or the other?

We made the the 98 Hwy trip in 2000 and loved it. Some nice RV parks on the beach too. We lived on a boat for 5 years and made the waterway trip a few time too. Fairhope is a nice town to stop and see.

Have traveled from 41 to pensacola on 98 many times and its a nice drive. Better than going north around the base Don
