In case you haven't heard, Bob Lee has a new company specializing systems, amenities, and upgrades. Their mission statement: "Introducing Full Luxury Support and Service of Highline Class "A" Diesel Pushers"
The talent he has put together is most impressive. Many names you will recognize from Country Coach and other parts of the RV Industry. The facilities are immaculate.
We had some work completed by OMC which was top notch. They have also set the highest standards for customer service. Quite frankly, every aspect of our visit was exceptional.

I just left Oregon Motorcoach Center in Eugene, OR. I had several items fixed on my coach including adjusting the height of the main slide and replacing the lower seal on both slides. It was great to do business at such a fine facility with such great and experienced people.

If you are in the area you should stop by, I'm sure Ed Read, Vance Anderson or Bob Lee himself will be "proud" to show you around. I know you will see several old friends from CC in the shop.
If you have any repairs you have been puting off or modifications you want to make, be sure to give them a call at (800) 942-6860. I'm sure happy I did.

Our friend, George, tells us that the motorcycle ride with Bob Lee at CCI Reunion has been canceled. Go Figure????? We will have the new Company info to include in our NWCCers Salem Rally Packets. prior to Albany Function.

But wait there is More. The "leader" of Guaranty called Monaco & CC and said they'd quit selling their coaches if any more warranty work was sent to another small repair shop on Airport Way.. That has the sounds of something legally not good.
The RV community in JC/Corburg/Eugene areas are 'hurting" with all the lay-offs and faciltiy closures by Monaco, CC, Guaranty, etc. etc.

I am very excited that finally a company may be interested in actually servicing our coaches. God knows this market has been long overdue for some competition. In Southern CA. a wait of several weeks was not uncommon. But with the slow down in sales, there is, in my estimation, about a 50% increase in service capacity.
I really hate the kiss my a-s attitude some of the dealers have regarding service. I have been to Carrier once last year and they did a good job. Guess what? I just got a thank you for my patronage, and a discount on certain work. I have meant Bob Lee once and I doubt he would remember me, but I am sure he is an astute business man, he saw what a lot of us have seen for years, a market crying for some leadership. After all these little toys are the price of a home, and remodeling will become more important as prices continue to raise. We must remember that there is only a box so big that can be made. So with the installation of some hybrid device there is really only fuel economy to drive this market to a higher level of volume. Ask yourself how much would you pay for a toy that get say 35 miles per gallon. Diesel hybrids have been in train engine for years, and they can pull some real weight, and travel a pretty good speeds, so everybody hold on and stay off the "Veranda" as the train is coming down the track.
Hope to see you all at the rally, and I will for sure attended the social for us diehards, who love the CC format. For those who have dropped me notes from time to time I appreciate your comments, especially those who have found humor in some of my comments. That is what life is all about, and we must remember to have fun first, bitch later.

I had an exceptionally good experience with Oregon Motorcoach Center in Eugene/Junction City yesterday.

I was in Seattle and my driver's side rear slide refused to come in.
After multiple attempts and maneuvers I ended up cranking it in manually with the ratchet and strap.

I called around and most places said they could help me in a week or more. When I called Bob Vinson at Oregon Motorcoach he said he also was full but he could take a look at it and if possible fix it the next day.
So we drove down to Eugene and spent the night in the paved, neat lot with electricity at Oregon Motorcoach. Early yesterday morning, in spite of many other coaches there, they took our coach into the bay and within 30 minutes had it repaired. Wow!!

They could not have been nicer and more pleasant to deal with. Bob Vinson is a real jewel.

Thought I would pass this extraordinary experience along to the group.

A recent visit to Oregon Motorcoach Center deserves a very positive comment. I made a reservation about six weeks ahead to have some routine maintenance and a variety of minor repairs. Arrival on Sunday PM was easy with several choices for 50 amp hookup in a spotless paved parking area. Work started promptly at 7:30AM Monday. There is a comfortable interior lounge for humans and their pets and a large exterior shaded porch with tables and chairs while waiting. Just before 4PM the coach was returned to its parking spot and we moved back in. On the second day, routine inspection revealed my PTO pump was bad and needed replacement - fortunately one was found in California and overnighted to us. I was delighted that their thorough inspection discovered the problem. It was installed the next morning and all the other work was completed.
Not only was the work performed expertly and expeditiously but the entire experience was a pleasure. Jim Cooley and his staff are considerate of their customers and friendly and professional.
This is our second visit to OMC. Our home is New Orleans, a long way from Eugene, but I hate to think of having any serious work done anywhere else.

We can understand exactly what you are saying Tom. Ron and I have been going to OMC for service since 2008 and we have always had a great experience and they keep our coach in tip top shape. If you have a problem while you are in the south, while it is not close, you can get good service from Fountain RV in Lakeland, Florida. Butch has saved us a couple of times on trips South.

Indeed, I agreed. You could triangulate those two locations with Eric Olstrom's shop in Tucson, AZ as another great service stop.

I'll also salute the staff at OMC. We called them during a busy time, with a few other RV'ers heading up for the FMCA Redmond Rally - they were already pretty busy with appointments. Explained what we were trying to have accomplish, and that we had a three day window due to other commitments. They worked us in, and we got the items we had prioritized taken care of. Also took the time to meet with us on interior remodels, and developing estimate ranges.

One area that we thought would be just an adjustment item (rear slide was off centered slanted a bit) turned out to be a broken bracket that required a weld repair and beefing up the metal in the area. Glad that we decided to prioritize what we thought was a simple 'adjustment'!

Clean shop, professional staff, and most important to me - PRIDE in workmanship.
