Southeast Florida

Looking to spend six to eight weeks in Florida (February/March).

Any recommendations for places that would have availability?
Would like to be near the ocean since we spent last winter on the gulf.

All replies appreciated.

TGO looks really interesting but I'm concerned that it may be too far north for February and March. Have you stayed there? What's the weather like?

You can get climate data on any US city at weather.com . Just enter the city name, then choose the "ten day" forecast. Below the 10th day click on "averages". This will give you the average high and low temps for each month. You can also get the "record" highs & lows.

Been there, done that. Means and averages really don't tell the real picture which is why I was looking for some experience. Thanks for the direction.

If you are worried about freezes, no need to. I live in Jaksonville and have never winterized my coach here. Temps here will get into mid to upper 20's once or twice for about 3-4 hours during a normal winter. Not enough to freeze anything.

The weather is fine during those months but of course not if you want to swim in the ocean. Nice beaches, Playalinda off Cape Kennedy, Cocoa Beach and Melbourne Beach. Excellent for golf, I lived there for 5 years then moved about 45 miles inland in Debary 35 miles due north of Orlando and have lived there for the past 12 years. If you go any further south it costs an arm and a leg and is far to busy in every way, Titusville a nice laid back area.

The one thing we noticed last winter was there was a considerable reduction in the number of people that had traveled to Florida for the winter. Unlike years past, there were vacancies in most of the campgrounds we observed.
