John, it sounds serious. I wouldn't drive it any farther than a CAT service shop. It could be a sensor but I wouldn't take any chances. jerry in NM, '00 Magna.

I have a 1998 CC Allure and I am having oil pressure problems When I run it and come to a stop the oil pressure drops to 0 and the Country Coach dies.
I have put in a new oil pressure gauge and a new oil gauge sensor. Still does not help. Can anyone give me some different idea's.

Don,

I would refrain from driving it until you know for sure that you have good pressure. You could attach an external mechanical oil pressure gauge to make sure what the pressure is doing. Maybe you could have a traveling mechanic check it out for you if you don't have the equipment to do this. Again, I wouldn't drive it until I knew for sure. If the pressure is actually that low you can do some very serious damage continuing to run it that way.

It's possible you have good pressure but may have a bad ground or even the oil pressure bypass in the engine could be stuck causing low pressure (easy fix). Or worst case you have a very serious problem in the engine.

What does the pressure look like when the engine is up to speed? Low there also?
