42' Intrigue triple slide

This morning I went over to Country Coach and took a peek at the 1st 2003-42' Intrigue triple slide, what a roomy coach. This is probably one of there best floorplans ever, realy thought out well inside and out.

This unit has a 30" deep flat floor slide on the drivers side (livingroom) with a free standing dinette on a wall cabinet module an Ekornes chair, ottoman, and table all in the deep slide. Of course a booth dinette and sofa or j-sofa can be optioned in. There are large end windows on each side of the deep slide, around 20" by 48" in size.

The passengers side slide out is 20" deep and has a sofa and galley built in. The galley built in the slide out only has a sink, the rest is all storage above and below the countertops. The microwave and oven sit aft of the passengers slide out and face the walk way so it can be used at all times, even with the slides in. Opposing the microwave and stove top is your side by side refer and a full pantry.

Here is where it gets good, the bedroom slide is 20" deep by 12' long. The bed, nightstands, a shirt closet, and a large bathroom vanity all slide out (drivers side) which makes both rooms very large and open. There is built in dual pocket doors to separate the bedroom and bathroom. The stool room has a 2nd sink and a king bed is an option.

The exterior has 3 large pass through bays, nice wide unobstructed bays. Country Coach really did there homework in the layout of the chassis components. The Onan 8.0 QD gen sits in the nose with an access door, it does not slide out but by placing it in front adds to the bay storage and gen access is still great. The LP tank is a long narrow tank that runs across the chassis to free up more storage, the amount of storage is very impressive to say the least.
Once this hits the market I look for it to consume most of the Intrigues production, kind of like the 42' Magna.

I am not Herb, but I will give you my opinion. IMHO, Damon provides a service. He reads theses posts and gives advice, and helps when he can and if occasionally he wants to tantalize us with new products, so be it. No one has a gun to my head to buy, and let's face it many of us are fascinated with motorhomes, otherwise we wouldn't have one. So, I say it's OK and it doesn't bother me. I think Damon gives back to us so it's OK. I draw the line with vendors trying to sell stuff and they found this forum and have never contributed, that feels like being used to me.

Hi Damon,

Thanks for the update on the new model. I'll be anxious to check it out on CC's web site. Even though I'm not in the market for a new Intrigue, I like to keep up on the new models. Hopefully they will bring one to the Jan. 2003 Rally in FL.

Damon, thank you for taking the time to detail some of the many improvements on the 42 ft Intrigue. I think your comments are very interesting especially to those who cannot easily visit the factory or a local dealer.

Please do not be deterred by those who think it was advertising.
This is a forum for CC owners and others interested in making a change to CC.
Anything positive about the company, the products and dealers is a big plus for all of us no matter the source.

I agree with you.

This is an ad and I find it offensive. The way I read our group description, ads would seem to be prohibited although they are not explicitly mentioned.
The description of the group would not include ads IMHO which is pretty much standard operating procedure in groups like this.

And there are a couple of good reasons for that approach.
If you let Damon post, why not every other CC dealer or any dealer that has a CC for resale.

Why should Damon use our group facility exclusively to solicit customer inquiries. If he can do it, can't any other vendor and/or sales person do it.

It is really not fair to other vendors and dealers who respect our group and don't load it up with junk mail.

I read this forum to get and share USER experiences with CC products. I know where to find information on new CC products and I don't need to waste time filtering out a sales pitch from Damon.
If we have a rule prohibiting ads and the like, then it should be enforced for all vendors to be fair.

I find it interesting, having been on this forum seeking info for quite some time now, that I don't recall either one of the Damon complainers I have seen this morning contributing much, but they wake up to complain about your info which, I guarantee, most of the readers/contributers on this forum will appreciate. They appear to have no clue as to your ongoing, worthwhile, helpful, looked forward to contributions.

I suggest that if said complainers don't like what you post, use the delete key. It really is quite easy and doesn't take too much strength to press it down when they see a post with your name on it.

Keep up the good work. You are appreciated by most all.

From what I read, he doesn't even have one to sell yet--he saw one at the factory. This is simply information that is not even posted on the CC website yet. Even though we are not at the least bit interested in slides--much less triple slides, I see nothing wrong with posting this info on this forum.

If we are voting, I'll sign up for this opinion. You cannot provide me with too much information from someone who is and has always been an active participant. Anytime anyone lauds a product, someone else will consider it advertising. I for one want to know the good and the bad.
The other point is that all of the follow up message, on the viability of the posting is what we could do without.

Damon IS primarily a salesman so it is not unexpected he wants to push his product now and then along with quite a bit of useful information pertaining to resolving coach problems.
Personally, I like to read about product updates even though I do not have "a dog in this fight".

I agree with the basic intent of your note about the focus of this forum. BUT everything in life is not always black and white. AND we need to have a bit of discernment and tolerance. The note in question is NOT blatant advertising to me. It is much more of an informative piece. If it were to say buy, buy, at xx price, call for to order, that would be an out right ad but this one was a bit different -- questionable.
Further Damon's actions are not unfair to other dealers.....they also have the opportunity to take the time and post responses to our questions and to have their name be seen by us. In dealing with all of Damon's postings, he provides so much helpful information in response to owners who are experiencing problems or lack understanding of how their coach operates. I can only remember one other salesman, Robin McCracken (sp?) who has also provided helpful information to this forum.
I fear that demeaning Damon's postings would cause him to lose interest in taking the time to search out and post answers to owners questions. He has been a valuable contributor to this site. And remember to a salesman, Time is their most valuable commodity --- that he is giving to us.
On balance, even if the note in question could be construed as an ad, it would be wrong for us to try to limit this "debate-able" type of infrequent posting. I for one enjoy learning about new models, new features and new offerings from CC.
I for one, think he should continue to keep us informed about new CC products, happenings, etc. and let us know how to contact him for further info.

And that's my story and I'm sticking to it!! :-)

The problem isn't one "Damon".

We now have just one Damon, and one (I recall) John (marketing steering stabilizers).

They have definite value and point to useful products occasionally.
I applaud vendors that come on to give us feedback on reported issues and problems (like Craig with the Hurricane issues).
I have been on lists where in a year or so there were many "Damons" and "Johns". If that happens to this list, I and likely others will stop looking at it, and its currently great value might well be lost.

My vote is for more Craigs and fewer Damons.
Maybe someone (Damon?) can set up a CC sales/add-on-products group?? I will likely look at such a group occasionally.

There are no prices and pressure to contact me in any of my posts, and I will also change my signature. My posts are to provide information with regards to Country Coach only and not an aftermarket product. This information is not on there website.
This is one of many benefits of working here, a mile from the factory. I will continue to provide this information since it seems majority of you would like to hear about "whats new". I apoligize if I offended anyone with my post.

Furthermore I have recieved 4 requests for pictures, 2 from competing salesman at other dealerships who knew nothing about this new floorplan, 1 from current CC owner, and 1 from a couple who are looking at a 42' Dynasty, 42' American Eagle, and now they are happily supprised to hear Country Coach has a 42' Intrigue. That is the beauty of this group, anyone can join it, even people who may be looking at various manufacturers and trying to narrow it down to one.

I think there is absolutely no reason to censure Damon. He has provided a wealth of technical information to owners, and besides, info on the 42-foot Intrigue is not on the CC web site yet. His post is purely informational--he includes the fact that he is a salesperson on his technical responses as well. Should he be censored because he includes this? I think not! PAK

The question is do we play by the rules or not. It would be very easy for anyone like Damon to post a short note indicating he had information on a new product that he was willing to share and then have those interested work directly with him.
I see the issue that we will soon have more people selling than we care to deal with and as a result lose many of the contributing members.
I have a small business called RV Stuff. Would you mind if I begin placing my ads here. While I've posted very little recently I have previously posted a significant amount of information regarding brake fade, brake noise and paint issues. Am I a contributing member. I like to think that I am. However, I don't think that gives me the license to use this as a classified ad forum.
I did a post asking John to refrain from the advertising on the Steering Stabilizer after the posts got very long. It is not that I have anything against John or his product. In fact, I've been to the site wherein the product is for sale and I will very likely purchase one in the next month or so. Sooo -- John gave us good information but that can be done in a short single post. By the way it seems that he agrees as he has shortened his posts on the product. I thank him very much for that. Others can do the same.

I think the difference is this is a "Country Coach" group that provides information with regards to Country Coach motorhomes, which is what I am doing. I have sent out pictures to 2 possible Country Coach buyers, whether they choose to work "directly with me" or not is something I have no control over.

As for you soliciting business, nobody here is being held to buying anything so much as a CC keychain from you. I, for one, appreciate the tons of information that you have provided to everyone here.
Information that has shown you not only know your CC's, but the other brands and how they stand up to them. I'm sure it's helped some "lurkers" to see why CCs are considered such quality coaches.
If there are any other well-informed salespersons who can positively contribute here, I welcome their input. I've told several salespersons about the forum and how it might be helpful for them to see what folks' concerns are, etc. However, to my knowledge, only Damon has repeatedly provided any information here. I may buy another coach at some point in the future, but to my knowledge, Damon, nor any other salesperson, hasn't tied me to a contract to exclusively buy from them. As far as I'm concerned, Damon is taking his own time and initiative to lurk here, provide information to anyone who wants it, but could possibly never sell any of us a coach...it's HIS risk...not ours. I have nothing to lose and everything to gain from his presence.

Thanks for giving us the information, Damon...the 42 sounds like a winner for the future (I never like to buy anything right out the chute.) We'll keep watching...
